Massage Therapy

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Myofascial Release
Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.
CranioSacral Techniques
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.
Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams - about the weight of a nickel - practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it's effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy is a type of bodywork that focuses on releasing "trigger points." Trigger points are points on the body, that when touched, will feel tender and refer pain to another part of the body. Sometimes trigger points will refer pain without being touched as well. These points will be noticeable as a nodule or taut band in the muscle belly. Depending on the location of the trigger point, there is usually a predictable referral pattern, as the pain will travel across the fascia. Using gentle releasing techniques, trigger point therapy is extremely beneficial for pain reduction, increase in range of motion, and reduction of muscle spasm.
Healing Touch
Healing Touch is an energy therapy modality that can easily be incorporated into any massage session, and can be an entire session in and of itself. Healing Touch is a heart-centered, non-invasive, energy modality that helps to harmonize and balance the human biofield. With this balance, physical, emotional, mental, and physical health are positively affected, placing the client in a better position to self-heal.
Pediatric Massage
Pediatric Massage is a modality specifically for children, that can combine Swedish massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy, modified with respect to the child's development.  Pediatric massage can be used to treat a child's chronic pain, increase their sense of well being, decrease anxiety, and increase their flexibility.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
Geriatric Massage
Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.
